    The Lower Ciuc Basin Natura 2000 site ROSCI0007 is located in the southeast part of Harghita County with an area of 2693 ha. The area partially overlaps with the following communes: Sâncrăieni (Sâncrăieni village), Sântimbru (Sântimbru village), Sânsimion (Sânsimion and Cetățuia villages) and Tușnad (Vrabia, Tușnad Sat and Tușnad Nou villages).     The site is included in the Alpine biogeographical region and it is important because of its high number of species and habitats of Community interest.
